Welcome to Natchez Church of God!

Natchez Church of God is a fellowship with a wonderful past and a glorious future! Located in the oldest settlement on the Mississippi river, Natchez Church of God began from a tent meeting and was organized with 13 members in 1939. Eight decades later, the Natchez Church of God is still touching lives and serves as a light in this old southern city and the world! Lively music and vibrant worship, children's and student ministry are a part of this fellowship. However, mission outside the four walls of the sanctuary is our calling. We live to worship God and carry out His vision for our lives through the mission He has given us: to worship God, love others, serve the community!

Moral of this post, come sit with me
A few months a ago Justin and I talked about going to church, we would talk about which church we wanted to go to and we always said we will go this Sunday, but we never did and that was because of me. I was afraid that if I walked into a church, everyone would know that I hadn’t been to church in YEARS, I had slid back from my faith, I wasn’t very Christ like (I am still working on it) and that I would be judged by others the moment I walked in because they knew. Spoiler alert, that’s not that case! Keelie Hall invited me to go to her church a ~few~ times before I did and it was the best decision I have ever made for my family and I. I’m not sure if it’s just me but I want and long for a “church home” a church that feels like I’m walking into my house with all the comfort and no judgement and I found my church home and I knew that Natchez Church of God was it my very first time going. The overwhelming comfort I feel every time I walk into that building is amazing. Brody and Caroline both enjoy going to church, Caroline asks me every morning if we are going to church because she wants to see Keelie (iykyk). I know everyone who goes to their church believes their preacher/pastor is the best, but Pastor Chris Sowell is hands down the BEST. There is not a service I leave that I feel as if I didn’t get something out of his message. I always, always, always get SOMETHING from his sermons. I also have not had a Sunday that I haven’t laughed or chuckled at his jokes.
If you don’t have a church you go to, or you have a church but you want to try out another one, come sit with me. I always have snacks and I’m willing to share 🤪
If you want to try to go to church on Easter, come sit with me.
Hopefully we can make Natchez Church of God your “church home” too 🫶🏻
